Juicy!

Hi!

Today I did my first day of "Juice Feasting" -- and loved it. It was wonderful to share the time and space with my friend and raw buddy - SaRAW. She's awesome and so inspiring....very committed to her raw food path.

So today we spent most of the day at my house.....quipped with our laptops, my children, dog Frankie and bags of fresh veggies! She even brought over her tray of wheat grass and she hand juiced us 2 batches during the day. I actually liked it.

Many people talk about how they hate greens....but I love greens. I guess it's to my benefit. I love greens and I love vegetables. I have no problem whatsoever drinking a glass of vegetable juice. Here's what I made today:

Juice from one large sweet potato and 3/4 head of chinese cabbage (sprinkle of red pepper for spice.) This juice was delicious. I have never juiced potatoes before....it was yummy!

After a dose of wheat grass juice that SaRAW made....I juiced these together: 2 small green apples, 2 small beets with the stems (don't forget to juice the stems....for extra minerals), 1 cucumber with skin on, and a few extra bits of cabbage. This juice was SO delicious!!

The last one of the afternoon was made my SaRAW. She made her favorite - green lemonade. I don't have the exact recipe but I know that today she used 2 lemons (no rind), lots of green leafy vegetables (kale), celery and cucumber. I love this one and it staves off hunger more then the others b/c of the lemon juice and greens (very alkalizing.)

I did get hungry during the day (we both did) and drank some water in between juices which did help some.

Today was a 3/4 day juice feast. I had a Larabar (mostly raw) around 5 pm and then a salad with some protein for dinner (cooked) with my kids. Although they had juice, potato chips, cooked food and ice cream...I have to say I stayed pretty pure in the face of all the food that they ate. :)

I am going to do another day tomorrow (Wednesday) -- at least another 3/4 day and see how I feel. I felt good today actually.

Stay tuned!

In health,
RAWbyn "Juicy" Vogel
